DRIVING

History of Lopez Racing

The Lopez Brothers, Donald and Sebastian Jr., grew up as auto racing fans. They raced toys, radio controlled vehicles, go-karts, bicycles, etc. against each other and the neighborhood kids. In the late 1990’s Sebastian began racing at the Street Nights at Royal Purple Raceway (then named Houston Raceway Park) and in the early 2000’s moving over to the Bracket & Index racing. He qualified several times to make the trip as a member of the Royal Purple Raceway team for the Division 4 Bracket Finals. In the mid to late 2000’s he appeared briefly on the then SpeedTV television show called PINKS All Out having traveled to the Houston, Shreveport, New Orleans and Charlotte area racetracks for filming. During his hiatus from driving, Sebastian attend cars shows and other auto related events with the Camaros and a 1950 Chevrolet Styleline Sport Coupe Deluxe. During that time he also completed his Bachelors and Masters degrees. Now that those personal accomplishments have been achieved, he will be returning to the driver’s seat at selected events in the 2019 drag racing season with the technical and mechanical knowledge support from his brother Donald and father Sebastian Sr. while working on his Doctorate of Education degree.
